Embrace Colour Friday Instead of Black Friday
Are you tired of the concept and commercial frenzy of Black Friday? I know so many people who are very sceptical about it and whether the deals on offer from the big retailers are really good value.
As a very small independent business I am unable to compete with and offer massive discounts like the big retailers, so instead I will be participating in Colour Friday on 29th November.
What is Colour Friday?
Colour Friday was started by Holly Tucker founder of Not On The Highstreet and Holly&Co back in 2021 as an alternative to Black Friday. It’s a campaign that encourages people to rethink how they approach holiday shopping by focusing on creativity, individuality, and thoughtful consumption. The day aims to encourage consumers to buy their Christmas gifts from independent, creative businesses and artisans who offer unique, sustainably made, goods. It focuses on thoughtful, meaningful gifts that bring joy to both the giver and the recipient.
What can I offer you on Colour Friday?
As a small business I can’t compete with the large discounts from the big retailers. While my discounts may be modest each of my products is
lovingly hand designed with fabrics printed in the UK using environmentally friendly processes
made to a high quality in the UK by small skilled manufactures and therefore supports real people not shareholders
personally quality checked by myself
thoughtfully packaged with attention to detail using recycled and recyclable packaging
sent to you with a handwritten thank you postcard
occasionally sent to you with a special “freebie”
And I will be offering you some special product bundles.
How can you get involved?
Shop locally and from independent businesses either online or from bricks and mortar stores
Choose gifts that are unique and made with love and care and not mass produced
Choose quality gifts over quantity. Buy gifts that are made to last and will be cherished for years to come
Shout about your favourite independent small businesses and makers
Share your experiences and gifts from unique independent small businesses with friends and family
Post on social media your stories/reviews of buying from small creative businesses and what it means to you
